processor to run Delta2D 4.1 with acceptable performance. Delta2D runs
on Windows NT4, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Mac OS X (min. 10.4) and Linux. Please contact us if you need more information.
The recommended computer configuration for working with Delta2D is a 2 GHz processor or better, 4 GB of RAM or more and
a 64-bit operating system like Windows Vista 64, Mac OS X, or most flavors of Linux 64.
Make backups before updating
If you update from an older version of Delta2D please make sure that
you have backups of all your data, i.e. all the gel pool directories you
worked in. The location of the current gel pool can be seen in the
Preferences dialog.
Windows: Run setup.exe
Install Delta2D by double-clicking on the file setup.exe. The
installation program will guide you through the setup process. Please
make sure that the installation does not overwrite any existing Delta2D
directory, choose a new directory like "Delta2D 4.1".
Mac: Open Delta2D-macosx.dmg
Open Delta2D-macosx.dmg. Start the installer by double-clicking on DECODON Delta2D Installer. The
installation program will guide you through the setup process. Please
make sure that the installation does not overwrite any existing Delta2D
directory, choose a new directory like "Delta2D 4.1".
You need a new license file
The license files for version 4.0 and below do not work with version 4.1.
Opening a project again with version 3.3
If you have created or modified a project with version 3.4 and higher, this project in general
cannot be opened or edited with version 3.3 again. However, you should be able to re-open a
project with version 3.3 if there are only approved match vectors in your match maps. But we
strongly recommend not to mix using version 3.4 and 3.3 with the same project. In particular
editing spots which originally have been detected with version 3.4 and higher will produce unexpected
results when you continue spot editing in version 3.3.
