Scouts

A lot of protein information is available on the web – from sequences to functions to citations. Wouldn't it be great to have this information available right on a gel image? With Delta2D you can let scouts go out to the web and come back with information on a particular protein. Use the GenBank scout to get sequences, functions, isoelectric point and molecular weight. The GenoList scout gives access to various proteomes from Bacillus subtilis to Synechocystis. We are adding more scouts over time.

Data from the web can be attached to labels and stored on your computer along with the other information in your analysis project. Delta2D can color labels according to annotations such as isoelectric point. With color coding, some protein modifications can be detected easily.

Related Features and Benefits

Use Scouts to automate retreival of spot related web data

DECODON Scouts simplify the retrieval of web data. Define a label and let the Scouts go out to the Web and bring back corresponding data like pI, MW, sequence, function ... Retrieved data are attached to the labels and stored on your computer.

Visualize protein properties by label colors

Label color coding illustrates protein properties using different colors. Numerical data like pI, MW, protein size and so on can be visualized by continous color gradients. This, for example, makes it easy to find proteins with unusual pI or MW caused by posttranslational modifications.
